Make a real difference to how Northstowe develops as a community - show your support now!
Northstowe Arts is delighted to support groups like Northstowe Players to develop arts activities in Northstowe!
Northstowe Players started in late 2024 and performed their first play, a 20-minute version of Alice in Wonderland, at the 2025 Midsummer Festival. The next play, which will be performed this December, will be longer and is being written specially for the group.
Rehearsals usually take place on Thursday nights at 7pm in the Cabin, but please contact the group first if you are interested just in case the details have changed.
New members are very welcome, and no experience is required. Whether you want to act, take a backstage role, help with costumes (especially if you have a sewing machine), do make-up, or just meet a fun and friendly bunch of people, the group can be contacted at northstoweplayers@gmail.com, or on Instagram at @TheNorthstowePlayers.
There is no official membership fee, but at the moment a small donation is required for room hire; if this would be a barrier to you joining, please mention it when contacting the group (select Northstowe Players in the "Use this donation for..." box)!
"I was absolutely over the moon when I discovered The Northstowe Players! This experience has been transformative for me personally. As someone with ADHD, I've always had multiple creative outlets bubbling away, and being part of The Northstowe Players has finally allowed them all to run wild! From acting and making props to building sets and experimenting with crazy stage makeup, I get to channel all that creative energy into something meaningful.
"What's really struck me is how connected I feel to the community now. One of the things I love most about our group is how beautifully multicultural we are. I've had the chance to bond with people from cultural backgrounds I'd never had the opportunity to connect with before, and it's been genuinely enriching. We're not just putting on shows; we're forming genuine friendships and creating a real sense of belonging."
"Joining The Northstowe Players has been an absolute joy! As someone completely new to performing, I was a little nervous at first, but from the very beginning, I was welcomed with warmth, patience, and encouragement. Playing the Queen in Alice in Wonderland for my very first performance was a fantastic experience — dramatic, fun, and a little over-the-top in the best possible way!
"I’ve discovered a real passion for theatre and can’t wait to be part of more productions. If you're curious about drama, whether on stage or behind the scenes, The Northstowe Players is the perfect place to start!"
